The Museum intends to be a scientific instrument as well as a means for the social projection of Catalan medicine, that is, a cultural instrument open to the entire population. The aim of the Museum is education, teaching and research to achieve a comprehensive knowledge of the history of health sciences, from the contemporary context of Catalan society. The wealth of the scientific and cultural heritage preserved by the Museum, as well as its own position into the Catalan historical context, call for its sources to be accessible in order to be enjoyed in an intelligible manner, guided through the paths of a museology founded in real objects.
