The building where the Museum is currently located is a
modernist family house with three floors and a basement.
This house has had distinct uses along its centenary existence,
since being physician and politician Lluís Vila d’Abadal’s
home and professional private clinic, to its roles as a
branch of a saving bank and high school, until the establishment
of the Museum in 1979.
It is foreseeable for the Museum to relocate into a modernist
wing of Santa Creu i Sant Pau´s Hospital, which will
loose its purpose once the new building for the hospital
is finished, within a relatively short period of time.
